スムース・ジャズ界の貴公子クリス・ボッティです。スティング、グラディス・ナイト、ジル・スコット、スティーヴン・タイラー、等のゲスト陣もスゴイ！クリスマス時期だったので、せっかくだから、ホリディパックなる2枚組を購入してみました。前作同様 London Session Orchestra の、あま〜いサウンドも いい(≧∇≦)b 。5月にブルーノート Tokyoに来るらしいので、楽しみです。

これ、昨年話題になったソニースパイウェア音楽CDのリストに入っているCDなので、気を付けましょうね。

「Embraceable You」の、しびれる程の甘いサウンドにノックアウト。巧いなぁ。時折決めるハイノートやジャンプなんか、超絶技巧ですよ。そんな事を感じさせないスマートさも、魅力です。朗々と歌い上げてきての、最後の方のハイEとか、ハイCのロングトーンは美しい・・・。
相変わらず、何やってもサマになるスティングの「What Are You Doing The Rest Of Your Life ?」では、ハーマンでミドルレンジを攻めてくる辺りは、シブイ。マイルスみたいな、ノンビブラート奏法。
ちょっとコケティッシュなヴォーカルのレニー・オルステッドの「Pennies From Heaven」もいい。ビッグバンドアレンジも、カッコイイ。ミドルテンポのモード調ソロパートは、ギル・エヴァンス&マイルスといった風格さえ漂う。ラストの超ハイノートもイェィ！！
おまけの、Disc2 クリスマス特集は、ちょっと、いいアレンジがありますね。「Let It Snow! Let It Snow!」のベースはブロンバーグかな？なかなか、面白い。
